Residents Encouraged to Attend Special Event for Passport Applications |
Attention, Modesto residents planning international travel: A unique opportunity to apply for a U.S. passport in person is coming to our city.
The Modesto City Clerk's Office is organizing a passport fair on Saturday, January 10, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Modesto City-County Airport, located at 617 Airport Way.
This event aims to provide a more personalized experience, especially for adults and children obtaining their passports for the first time.
Why is a U.S. Passport or California Real ID Important?
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security mandates that individuals aged 18 or older possess a federally approved document—such as a U.S. passport or a Real ID driver’s license—to board domestic flights and access certain federal facilities.
Do I Need an Appointment for the Passport Fair?
While walk-ins are welcome, the city recommends scheduling an appointment to ensure timely service. To book an appointment, call 209-577-5333 or visit the city's website for online booking.
Applicants are encouraged to complete their application forms in advance, print them out, and bring the unsigned forms along with an acceptable passport photo, necessary fees, and required documents.

Eligibility criteria include:
